Ouluntulli Rock Pool

The hole in the rock in Ouluntulli is an old quarry restored into a swimming hole. The swimming place is in a sheltered location with easy access from the Ouluntulli service station and from Kokkokankaantie road. The water in the hole is fresh groundwater seeping through the bottom, so the water is fresh even on hot days. The beach is equipped with changing cubicles and with three diving platforms. A separate shallow water area is divided for children. In other parts of the pool the depth may exceed 8 metres, which makes diving possible. The Ouluntulli beach is categorised as an EU beach and rated as excellent.

Mourunki beach

Mourunkijärvi is a clear-watered peatland lake in the middle of Juurussuo in Kempele. The lake is located at the end of Mourungintie road, and you can also reach it via hiking trails by mountain bike or by skiing in the winter. About one kilometre from the lake there is Marjakammi, a popular tipi-like hut where you can roast sausages. The Mourunkijärvi beach is one of the two official swimming beaches in Kempele. Every autumn, the Kempele Marathon Club organises Mourunki Trail Run, a run or a walk from Köykkyri to Mourunkijärvi and back. On Mourungintie, before the lake, you can find Linnunrata Alpaca Farm.
